BMW i4 new spy shots

BMW's answer to the Model 3 has just been spotted in transit as development continues. We are seeing a heavily revised front end, that looks much closer to the German brands established design cues. We knew that the Vision Dynamics Concept was a far cry from what we would see in production.

Was hoping we would see a less conventional grille design, to differentiate it a bit from their ICE models. Maybe there are more drastic changes to be found inside?

Hard to tell with all the camo but as an i-model it needs to look unique, like the i8. Is that what we should be expecting??

I think BMW wants it to be almost indistinguishable from the rest of their sedans, because non-traditional styling may work against them in converting ICE owners. Wonder if the Vision iNext SUV will follow the same route in production guise.

if that's the case then our only hope for an "i8 sedan" might be the BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe as an i-model.

They don't need to reinvent the wheel to give their new electric cars some distinction. If you're spending more money on something with an electric powertrain, there should be some key identifiers that showcase that. No exhaust ports isn't a feature.

I think there was some middle ground to be found between the initial concept and what we are seeing here with the test mule. Its disappointing that they've chosen to set their new EV so closely to the rest of their ICE lineup.

brands like Rivian are breaking down boarders to more advanced design so with those challenges other brands face I hope it'll change things at BMW for the better.

Companies like Rivian don't have their hands tied by heritage. BMW is walking a fine line with their new i Series as they attempt to allure newcomers to the brand and pay respect to long term loyalists.
