To date BMW Group has sold 110,560 electrified models, confirming that many see the brand as a leader of premium EV's. With 9 currently models in their portfolio, they are expecting to hit their target of 140,000 sales this year and around half a million by the end of 2019.

Adoption rates of plug ins will continue to increase as newer plug in models become more affordable. It's already expected that in the next few years that hybrid/EV models will actually become cheaper than their ICE counterparts.

Always been seeing numbers like this that make you wonder what governments are doing because often when they're ready, the private sector has already been well established.

I think as more people become aware of the cost benefits of moving to an electric that this will cause a spike as well. Relatively no maintenance aside from brake jobs, which are at far longer intervals than what we've become accustom to with petrol.
